Solar lights
Solar lights are an easy way to light the outside of your home. They require only the initial set-up and the sun to power them. Many people like the idea of no electrical wiring to deal with when installing solar lights. They also like the idea that these lights will also last longer than a regular light bulb, about 100,000 hours compared to 2,000-3,000 hours. Solar lights come in many shapes, sizes, and varieties. Here are a few you may want to consider when purchasing your solar lights:
· Floodlights- These lights provide the brightest illumination which can be attached to the outside of your home to illuminate the driveway, front porch, or backyard. Make sure they are angled south when installed, to achieve maximum sun exposure.
· Path Lights- Your walkways and paths around your home can be tricky to navigate in the dark. Using solar lights to light up the night will help you (and your guests) locate that crack or step you might trip over in the dark. They also come in many decorative varieties to create that special ambiance you may have in mind for your home.
· Accent Lights- As the name implies, these lights are used to accent, rather than provide a good source of light in the dark. These solar lights are specifically made to provide a festive glow, usually used throughout the landscape of your yard. A soft amber solar light will provide a warm glow, whereas a white/blue solar light will be brighter.
